Working closely with the Barrington Schools Facilities Department BTGA designed improvements for the Nayatt School and the Primrose Hill School that built off a roof replacement project. This maintenance work was implemented with an eye toward improving the school’s indoor educational environment and green construction features.

The addition of solar tube skylights in the roof vastly improved the quality of light for spaces that had been previously devoid of daylight. A high solar reflectance modified bitumen roofing system was used to avoid generating heat gain in the building and a “heat-island” effect on the roof itself. Water from the roof’s drainage system collection to be used for for irrigation and vehicle washing. The roofs were also designed to be PV ready allowing for future placement of solar power when funds allow.
