At BTGA we all share an enthusiasm for the power of architectural design to improve our built environment. We work together to bring our clients’ visions to life through our collective skills and transparent communication. We strive to be active problem-solvers, diplomatic advisors, speedy facilitators, and careful listeners.

  • Pat has a unique ability to find options for responsive, functional, and livable spaces, and put together projects that translate well into a buildable reality. A partner for over a decade, he brings his well of ingenious solutions, keen eye, and sense of humor to each project. He began his training at UMass Amherst and has a master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Colorado. He is an active member of his local Building Board of Review.

Patrick M. Connors, AIA

  • Nate’s dedication to building better communities begins with building spaces that foster better education. His passion for functional community institutions and his regionally informed modern design sensibility have guided his projects to successful completion. Nate received a professional degree from The Boston Architectural College and a master's degree from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.

Nathaniel J. Ginsburg, AIA

Barbara J. Thornton, AIA, LEED AP

  • Master’s degrees in both architecture and business from MIT have enabled Barbara to create a professional and ethical architectural practice with strong business underpinnings. She is the second founding partner at BTGA and has helped structure our growth and success. Her expertise with building science and moisture management has been instrumental in solving numerous historic building issues.

  • Christine has always had a passion for designing community buildings and facilitating public outreach. Working with clients across southern New England, her careful attention to detail and commitment to each of her projects, have served her clients well. Christine has an extensive background and passion for sustainability. She explored the restoration of brownfields in RI as part of her graduate thesis work, carefully considering the economical and social benefits, as well as realistic solutions for government agencies to finance and execute these critical efforts. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Architecture from UMass Amherst and an MBA in Sustainable Development from Marylhurst University.

Christine Shea, LEED, MBA

  • Peter has a keen interest in the integration of design details into the built environment and is particularly experienced in mill work and built-in design. As a volunteer in the ACE Mentor Program of RI, Peter provides coaching to high school students interested in pursuing careers in the architecture, engineering, and construction fields. Peter graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology with a Bachelor’s in Architecture.

Peter Ciminello

  • Anjali is enthusiastic about place making and believes strongly that collaborative methods play a major role in sustainable communities and public spaces. Through her emphasis on people-oriented design strategies, she believes design has the potential to connect and engage. Anjali has an undergraduate degree in architecture from the University of Mumbai, India and a master’s degree in Urban Design from the Pratt Institute, NY.

Anjali Dole, AIA

Aarti Kathuria, AIA, LEED AP

  • Aarti is passionate about adaptive reuse, and she designs dynamic spaces that engage the users. She strengthens her projects by integrating them with their surrounding context, and by emphasizing their sensory elements. Her experience ranges, working on projects of different scales and levels of complexity with integration of latest technology. After her Bachelors in Architecture from New Delhi, India, she pursued a Masters in Architecture from Illinois Institute of Technology and a post professional in Adaptive reuse from Rhode Island School of Design.

Melissa Wherley

  • Melissa brings her diverse educational background into her everyday work ethic. Receiving dual degrees in Political Science/Pre-Law and Justice Studies from the University of New Hampshire, she used the recession to take the leap into her true passion for design, moving back to New England for her master’s in architecture from RISD. She loves to design spaces that positively affect and change our client's emotional and mental well-being and increase productivity through thoughtful design.

Yamilé Delisi

  • Yamilé brings her enthusiasm and experience to residential design, having worked on projects large and small. She strives to improve clients' lives through thoughtful design. She is also active in the community by participating in the ACE Mentor Program of RI. Yamilé received her Bachelor’s in Architecture from the Rafael Urdaneta University in Venezuela, graduating Cum Laude. She is currently on the path to architectural licensure.

John Dye, AIA

  • A Washington State native John moved to the East Coast to attend Roger Williams University, where he earned his B.S. and Master’s degree in Architecture. John is a licensed Architect in Rhode Island, working on both institutional and residential projects here at BTGA. Big or small John enjoys designing spaces that people interact with every day.

Hanna Fortin, NCARB

  • Hanna has a B.A.S in architecture from Keene State College and a MArch from Boston Architectural College. She is a licensed Architect in Rhode Island, working mainly on preservation and lab projects here at BTGA. Her love for historic buildings and sustainability pushes her to continue learning about existing and new building design.

Bryan Laborera

  • Bryan’s vivid imagination and creativity can be seen throughout his work here at BTGA. He has always had a strong interest in the world around him, and his passion for helping others has followed him throughout his life, mentoring students at RWU and now, always lending a helping hand to his peers. Bryan received his B.S. in architecture from Roger Williams University, minoring in art and architecture history.

Kenn Post

  • Before coming to BTGA, Kenn studied architecture at Roger Williams University and worked as an in-house builder/carpenter for a Cape Cod Design-Build firm. He recently returned to Rhode Island to finish his Masters and practice architecture in the state he loves. With an ability to approach design from both the architectural and construction standpoint, Kenn works under our residential architecture group here at BTGA. His primary goal is to serve clients with the best architectural experience possible while navigating the realities of single-family home construction: Architecture that can operate at every scale for every person.

  • Sarah is a practiced graphic designer with a background in art history. She started out in the Museum industry, working in prominent historic buildings throughout RI. Sarah has a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design and Arts Administration from Stonehill College.

Mary Dorsey Brewster | Partner Emeritus

Mary founded the practice in 1989 with the belief that design can improve clients' lives. Her creative vision, backed up by solid technical knowledge and long experience, has generated optimal design solutions for clients and communities alike. Her professional degree from Rhode Island School of Design and her eye for strong composition has guided her work throughout her career. She currently serves on the RI State Board of Professional Licensure.
