Preservation work on the R.I. State House Dome in Providence has won the Stewardship Award in the annual Rhody Awards in the Historic Preservation category. Brewster Thornton Group Architects served as architect on the team for all the work with Martone Inc. as contractor in the latest stage, interior plaster and mural restoration. Previously, BTGA investigated leak issues and designed a program of water testing and site monitoring. Mitigation of leaks and condensation was crucial to the preservation work and painting that followed.

The Rhody Awards honor those who make a difference by protecting the state’s historic places. The award will be presented during a celebration on October 22, 2017, at the Water Fire Arts Center in Providence.
