Easton Point

It looks natural and easy now, but Patrick Connors really pulled out all the stops to design this house so that each main room has an ocean view BETWEEN houses across the street. Without this careful approach, you could have been looking straight into the neighbor’s house instead of across the waves.

In addition, many strategies have been used to encourage both outdoor living and privacy on this house.  An exterior sliding pocket door opens the entire living room to the ocean view terrace. The kitchen has a long window so that picnic lunches can be served at the outside table. There are 3 outside terraces on the second and third floors.

A palette of natural cedar shingles, fieldstone, and mahogany doors all tie the house to its historical neighbors. The twin conical roofs focus attention on the gable that spreads its wings to cover the house in a protective gesture.
