Our Lady of Mount Carmel

Our Lady of Mount Carmel wanted to increase its accessibility, but the existing historic envelope would not allow for such an accommodation. As such, BTGA set out to design an addition to include a ramp that would conform with the historic façade. This required finding new materials to match the historic ones, as well as the careful extraction and relocation of an existing stained-glass window. Old doors that were previously removed from the front of the church were reclaimed and used for the new ramp entrance. A small interior renovation also allowed for the inclusion of a new handicap accessible restroom, completing the accessibility upgrades.
