Roger Williams Park Buildings
BTGA has been retained as the historic “House Doctor” for Roger Williams Park, serving as trusted preservation architects with the skills to safeguard and maintain the park’s historic buildings for the future. Our team has performed multiple building assessments, adaptive reuse studies, repairs, and restorations to several buildings on the park grounds over the years, including the Casino, Temple to Music, Dalyrymple Boathouse, Museum of Natural History and Cormack Planetarium, and the Bandstand—all of which were originally built in the late 19th or early 20th century. BTGA’s extensive expertise with the various masonry materials and knowledge of traditional roofing designs were conducive to the successful completion of multiple masonry restoration and roof repair projects. A great example of this is the Bandstand (pictured above): Originally built in 1901, replaced in 1915, and partially restored in the 1980s, the building was fully restored above the waterline by BTGA in 2017.
