Tiverton Public Schools

Like many RI school districts, Tiverton Public Schools encompasses numerous facilities of varying ages, conditions, and needs. BTGA and our design team worked closely with the School District to evaluate conditions across all 5 schools, determine immediate and long-term needs, and develop a phased approach to overall renovations. BTGA presented design solutions to stakeholders, held public meetings for community input, and provided a successful Stage II RIDE submission for the next round of school renovations.

Stakeholder engagement was paramount to the success of this project. BTGA worked closely with the public, faculty and staff, administrators, the School Committee, and the Town Council to propose renovations that would bring their facilities into 21st century learning spaces. These spaces will be flexible, user friendly, improve safety and security, address ongoing maintenance issues, and be geared toward how students learn today and in the future. Renovations will include new media centers, bathroom renovations, lab upgrades, and interactive classrooms.

During the development of the Stage II, BTGA began the Stage III renovations to the High School fitness and locker room spaces. This gut renovation will bring much needed upgrades to their facilities, provide inclusive spaces that better meet student and faculty needs, and provide a modern fitness center for both athletics and the entire student population. The renovations will also include an upgraded classroom and incorporate both passive and active security measures for a safer learning environment. This project is currently under construction.
