Behavior Change Research Center

The URI Psychology Department retained BTGA to merge three research groups to form the Behavioral Change Research Center in Chafee Hall. This 12,000-square-foot, $3M renovation, funded by an NIH stimulus grant, modernized a 1964 research facility and provided a professional, warm, and welcoming therapeutic center. Work included clinical spaces, research labs, conference areas, a staff lounge, and support spaces. The design took into account separate staff and patient circulation paths, a need for privacy, and teaching spaces integrated into the professional environment. BTGA combined the needs of three separate usergroups into one usable, convertible space.
