BTGA and Ballinger were retained by URI to expand the college of engineering program within Bliss Hall. BTGA is responsible for renovating the existing historic building - a complete interior renovation, window replacement, and masonry repair. Ballinger is in charge of the four-story addition that forms one edge of a new engineering quad.

The interior renovation creates a cohesive program within the existing building and the addition that includes, labs, classrooms, student activity spaces, and offices essential to the expansion of the engineering school. To comply with the RI Green Buildings Act, the project is applying for LEED Silver certification.
