Westminster Unitarian Church
The Westminster Unitarian Church retained BTGA to design and provide feasibility budgeting for a new church office and Fellowship Hall to replace a Victorian residential building in use by the church for 50 years. Our initial design led to a successful fundraising campaign and gave the project forward momentum. The final design for the new facility includes four classrooms, a warming kitchen, a hall that seats 166, offices for three staff, children’s chapel, and library/meeting rooms. The project has incorporated many Green Building aspects, including strategic building orientation for future solar panel array, daylighting at the hall clerestory windows, Solatubes for corridor lighting, high performing thermal envelope that exceeds energy code standards by 32%, and a high efficiency multi-stage boiler configuration.
The building has been well received by the community and is now occupied.
